George Manns, 2002.
Sumac and walnut;
hand-rubbed oil finish.
The top is one solid piece of two-inch-thick walnut--it's not glued-up. The tree must have been at least 100 years old. The three-foot flame is the biggest George has ever seen. The pedestal base is a sumac crotch with 5 legs. It's probably about 15 to 16 years old, which makes an interesting match to the top. 2' wide by 3' long, 18" high.
